The gilded bronze danglu of the Western Han Dynasty is a rare treasure among the horse gear of Han Dynasty nobles. Different from common bronze vessels such as bronze mirrors and tripods, it is small in shape but extremely luxurious in craftsmanship. It is usually leaf-shaped or shield-shaped, made of bronze base and fully gilded. Its surface is often engraved with cloud patterns, mythical beast patterns and geometric motifs, and some are inlaid with turquoise and agate. Glittering in the sunlight, it embodies the combination of martial spirit and luxurious aesthetics of the Han Dynasty.
Such artifacts are mostly unearthed from high-level tombs of princes and marquises, whose owners were mostly generals with outstanding military exploits or imperial relatives, serving as an important symbol of social status. Due to the complex burial environment, very few gilded bronze danglu have been completely preserved to this day, and most of them have blurred patterns. Most well-preserved pieces are stored in local archaeological warehouses and rarely exhibited in permanent exhibitions, so they have very low public recognition and are a very niche category of bronze cultural relics.

[1

post-1029","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
