\u5361\u96c0\u54c7\u8282\u662f\u4e91\u5357\u6012\u6c5f\u72ec\u9f99\u65cf\u72ec\u6709\u7684\u4f20\u7edf\u65b0\u5e74\u8282\u5e86\uff0c\u4e5f\u79f0\u4e3a \u201c\u5f00\u660c\u74e6\u201d\uff0c\u662f\u72ec\u9f99\u65cf\u4e00\u5e74\u4e2d\u552f\u4e00\u7684\u9686\u91cd\u8282\u65e5\uff0c\u4e3b\u8981\u6d41\u4f20\u4e8e\u8d21\u5c71\u53bf\u72ec\u9f99\u6c5f\u6d41\u57df\u7684\u72ec\u9f99\u65cf\u6751\u5be8\uff0c\u901a\u5e38\u5728\u516c\u5386\u5341\u4e8c\u6708\u81f3\u6b21\u5e74\u4e00\u6708\u95f4\u62e9\u671f\u4e3e\u884c\uff0c\u8282\u671f\u4e09\u81f3\u4e94\u5929\u3002\u533a\u522b\u4e8e\u5927\u4f17\u719f\u77e5\u7684\u4e91\u5357\u5404\u5c11\u6570\u6c11\u65cf\u8282\u5e86\uff0c\u5361\u96c0\u54c7\u8282\u5e26\u7740\u6d53\u90c1\u7684\u539f\u59cb\u5c71\u5730\u72e9\u730e\u91c7\u96c6\u6587\u5316\u8272\u5f69\uff0c\u6838\u5fc3\u662f\u796d\u7940\u5c71\u795e\u4e0e\u7956\u5148\uff0c\u5e86\u8d3a\u4e00\u5e74\u6536\u83b7\uff0c\u7948\u6c42\u6765\u5e74\u72e9\u730e\u987a\u9042\u3001\u7cae\u98df\u4e30\u6536\u3001\u6751\u5be8\u5e73\u5b89\u3002
\nThe Kaquewa Festival is a unique traditional New Year festival of the Derung people in Nujiang, Yunnan, also known as Kaichangwa. It is the only grand festival of the Derung people throughout the year, mainly prevalent in Derung villages along the Dulong River Valley in Gongshan County. It is usually held on a selected date from December to January of the next year in the Gregorian calendar, lasting three to five days. Different from well-known ethnic minority festivals in Yunnan, the Kaquewa Festival carries strong primitive mountain hunting-gathering cultural characteristics. Its core is to worship mountain gods and ancestors, celebrate the annual harvest, and pray for smooth hunting, abundant grain harvest and village peace in the coming year.

\nThe most distinctive ritual of the Kaquewa Festival is “slaughtering cattle to worship heaven”. Presided over by the clan leader, the crowd ties the cattle to the sacrificial pillar, and hunters with spears stab it in the traditional way. The direction in which the cattle falls is regarded as an omen of the fortune of the year. After the sacrifice, beef is equally distributed to each household, and the whole clan shares a feast. Meanwhile, traditional activities such as crossbow shooting, Guozhuang dance and antiphonal singing are held. Due to the small population of the Derung people and the long-term traffic isolation of the Dulong River area, this custom is completely inherited only in a few Derung villages.
