Mounted on the side rail of the chariot compartment, it was used to rest crossbows and prevent them from falling during bumpy rides, making it an iconic artifact of ancient chariot warfare. Bow holders made with the gold and silver inlay technique were reserved for noble chariots. Intricate cloud patterns, animal motifs, and geometric designs are inlaid with gold and silver threads on the bronze base, creating a dazzling effect and representing the highest level of bronze craftsmanship at the time.
As chariot warfare declined after the Han Dynasty, far fewer bow holders have survived compared to conventional weapons like swords and spears, and most are heavily corroded. Fine specimens with complete gold and silver inlay patterns are extremely rare. These artifacts are not only physical evidence of ancient military equipment, but also reflect the extreme pursuit of chariot decoration by nobles during the Warring States Period. Chariots were both combat tools and symbols of status and national power, with every decorative detail reflecting the rank and strength of their owner.

[1

post-996","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
